Prof. Stefan STANKO is the full professor of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava Slovakia. His present position is the Head of Department of Sanitary & Environmental Engineering and he is the vicechair of the Academic University Board. He is the supervisor of international study program Civil Engineering. His main scientist interest are the fields of water management and water structures. The sanitary and environmental engineering research fields.
His wider research scope, more than 25 years experiences, concerns the water supply, wastewater management includes stormwater, urban hydrology, computational modelling, and design of water structures. 3D modelling of hydraulic processes, urban hydrology, smart cities infrastructure etc. He is the author of computational software for sewer system design and simulation processes.
He is the author and co-author of tens research papers, supervisor of research and educational projects. The lecturer activity concerns the above topics. He has international experiences with China universities – Ningbo, partnership University in Tianjin through the Confucius institute in Bratislava (CIB). He participated on the international projects in Middle Asia countries, Armenian Universities, Russia Universities, National Water Research Institute in Canada, University of Genoa - Italy, University of Pavia – Italy and more European, Russian, and overseas Universities.
He is the full professor from 2017, member of the faculty Scientific Board. He performed as the vice rector for education, at Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, with more than 15 thousand students and vice rector for international relations 2015-2019. He is the Chair /from 2013/ of the Slovak National Committee - International Water Association – SNK IWA, www.iwa.sk.
